..and I know there's something sick with what I've been sold...
post title: lyrics to Heart by Bertie Blackman.
I've been obsessed with these liquid leggings by black milk for a while now. Spotted first on Queen Michelle of Kingdom of Style, I procrastinated buying them due to the cost. Still, everytime she wears them I find myself drooling....and then still dreaming about them hours later. Time to hit purchase, I say. These babies are killler. So going to enjoy the hell out of them.

Stuart and I had a memorable-y fantastic seafood platter to share at a new Italian restaurant at the boat harbour close to home this weekend. Yum. Last minute dinner decision and WELL worth it. Yum. Check this (oversize) plate out. Everything had been specifically cooked to perfection (grilled/battered and lightly fried/marinated/barbequed). I still drool a little thinking about it. The highlight of the dish? the mussels marinated in sambuka with herbs......woah!

African Heart
Celebrated a friend's birthday the best way we know how.....dinner at Hippo Creek (an African restaurant). We shared a plate entitled 'African Safari' for starters (comprising skewers of buffalo, camel, crocodile and ostrich with monkey gland (??!!?!) and peri-peri sauce). Camel is delicious. And before you berate me, camels are officially at pest level here in Australia. We also shared some biltong (ridiculously good) and African beer bread. For mains, we tried the Hunters Assaggai (marinated and flame grilled beef on a skewer, hanging over a bowl of fries with garlic butter), the pepper crusted buffalo fillet, the camel fillet and the lions kill. Ahhh, what a meal. A restaurant deserving of all its accolades in the few months it has been open at the marina.
I wore my new favourite shoes to dinner. These babies have not left my feet this weekend. Stuart laughed at me yesterday when I (jokingly) got into bed wearing my pyjamas and the boots in question. Serious love. And sooo comfy. Amen. Well worth the wait :)

These babies have a detachable harness (which you can adjust depending on how slouchy you want to wear the boots), are all leather and weigh about 1.3 kgs. They don't actually feel heavy when you wear them though....hmmm, wonder how heavy the Edelmans are.

Thinking of making szechuan chicken for dinner, so I best work out the ingredients I'll need. Hope you've all had a fab weekend :)

worn-in perfection
Get used to this tee, you'll be seeing alot of it on the blog.
From my favourite vtg rock band-memorabilia store in Melbourne; retrostar.
(I got this Metallica tee and a Rolling Stones tour tee. Both in soft, grey, worn-in cotton.)
Now I only wish I had got a few more for good measure.
Perfection truly is a simple comfy tee and jeans
Worn (in this set of shots, anyway) to dinner and drinks at an Irish pub. When they claim to serve "hearty meals", they MEAN it. I had to be wheelbarrowed out of there...which explains the last lazy, lounging shot against the car. Hah.
my hair's getting ridiculously long...and I think I love it??
feel free to snigger at the satiated look on me...
You have been warned....this blog will probably become a one-trick pony with the tee. What can I say, its so comfy I want to sleep in it. Mmmmm. I guess I should just admit now that I wore it on thursday to the Irish pub, Friday to Danny Bhoy's (comedian) stand up gig and on Saturday to the movies. I vaguely recall wearing it on Sunday for a brief period of time as well.....

Sunset over suburbia (and the restaurant in the sky)
On Saturday, Stuart and I did the very romantic thing (I'm not normally a romantic sap but I do have my moments) and went out to dinner, to the restaurant in the sky, to celebrate our anniversary.
Restaurant in the sky, I hear you ask.
Yep. A revolving restaurant on the top floor of a building in the city.
I'd heard it was romantic, good food, the lot, but I still didn't have any expectations.
Gladly, it was romantic and then some. Mood lighting, a rotating outer disk of the floor space (where the diners sat), tables overlooking the bright lights of Perth city, the mellow and soothing familiar tunes from the drummer and pianist, the very attentive waitress, and the fabulous food. Yum.
I had salmon with blood orange slices for starters and Stuart had scallops with mango and watermelon pieces, topped with mint leaves. Seriously odd combinations, but bizarrely and sensationally delectable. The mains were even better (beef fillet so tender I nearly cried (well, Okay, I didn't but you get the gist ;), barramundi so perfectly grilled on a bed of sauteed tomato slices it should be illegal). We finished off with a decadent chocolate mousse desert and finished off our bottle of impeccable red wine.
I took these photos just before we drove off, to the restaurant.
I like to call it "Sunset over Suburbia"
The bright lights of the city (plus the drummer :)
The foreshore
Wrestling with statues for money...
Infront of the Supreme Court building (we happened to be passing ;)
It was quite funny actually, on the walk back to the car a drunken 15 year old swayed towards me and when she got within grasping distance (and I had stiffened considerably, eyeing the alcopop in her hand warily!) she halted and slurred, 'I looove your dress...where is it from?'.
Vintage, dahhlink, vintage oversize lady top actually.....
