in rotation.....
Just a few of the rings currently in rotation. The full set includes a two finger leaf ring in gold tone, an oversize gold rose ring, a vintage silver 'fertility' ring, and a gold tone spider ring. Do you guys have rings on rotation?
The disappearing act is necessitated by my over-loaded schedule. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to return back to normal once my camera course is over.

public service announcements....
1. Thigh high boots:
I've searched high and low for the perfect thigh-high leather boots.....I have abnormally skinny legs for my body and as a result most of the thigh-high boots out there just gape around my legs. Its especially bad with "skinny" shaft thigh-highs (woah, does that read completely perverted or is it just me?!!?) because they do this wierd bunching thing around my legs. AND lets not get into the whole "is it skanky if you're wearing hooker boots with really high heels?" moral fashion dilemma. In my opinion, if you're going to wear thigh-high boots and short tunics/shorts/skirts/other, its best if the boots are flat. So with that in mind, I've been searching. For the past 3-4 seasons....with no luck. And finally, I have acquired the perfect pair and they have made the ardous journey over rough seas (or maybe just in a plane, but still...) and are in my possession. The boots in question? These babies:

Since I first spotted them coming down the runway, worn by Freja and paired with the paperbag-waisted leather shorts, I've drooled over this pair by ChloƩ. What's not to love about this cuffable thigh-high version, with leather straps to be criss-crossed across the shaft for the perfect dishevelled look!! And its my duty to tell you that these babies are softer than soft and are about the most comfy things I've ever worn on my feet. Welll worth the investment. Mmmmm. Now where can I get me a pair of coloured paper-bag waisted leather shorts?
2. Win with MyCatwalk:
MyCatwalk (click on link) has teamed up with Maurie and Eve, whom I've discussed here and here, to offer one lucky person a chance to win $1000 worth of fab Maurie and Eve gear. Maurie and Eve are always on-trend, avant garde and brilliant....and if you win, you get to join a stylist (no names revealed yet) in Sydney and have your wardrobe planned for the season, jam packed with Maurie and Eve products. Oooh. All you have to do is spend $250 at mycatwalk.com.au to be entered into the draw. This one suits the Aussies, but even if you're not an Aussie there's no reason not to check out Maurie and Eve for brilliant Christmas buys (I promise I get no commission from this, I just love Maurie and Eve that much :)

leopard hearts owl
ASOS comes through again. Ordered this short sleeved top/jacket from the website as well as these sleek shiny leggings. These will have to make do until I can source a decent PVC pair. Any ideas of where to look (without having to pay a ridic amount cough*leschiffoniers*cough)?
Love how quickly ASOS ships. Great customer service, which only tempts me to buy more. Badddd. Speaking of being tempted, took this photo when we visited Freo on Saturday for coffee and took a wander through the markets. I'm thinking of going back to buy Stu those heart sunnies. How silly does he look, haha ;)
(it'll also validate our half hour loitering at the sunnies stand and laughing at various ridiculous sunnies whilst the stall owner gave us dirty looks. Whoops.)
pocket tee, supre. jacket and leggings, asos. bangle, city beach. necklace, sportsgirl. boots, maurie & eve.

African Heart
Celebrated a friend's birthday the best way we know how.....dinner at Hippo Creek (an African restaurant). We shared a plate entitled 'African Safari' for starters (comprising skewers of buffalo, camel, crocodile and ostrich with monkey gland (??!!?!) and peri-peri sauce). Camel is delicious. And before you berate me, camels are officially at pest level here in Australia. We also shared some biltong (ridiculously good) and African beer bread. For mains, we tried the Hunters Assaggai (marinated and flame grilled beef on a skewer, hanging over a bowl of fries with garlic butter), the pepper crusted buffalo fillet, the camel fillet and the lions kill. Ahhh, what a meal. A restaurant deserving of all its accolades in the few months it has been open at the marina.
I wore my new favourite shoes to dinner. These babies have not left my feet this weekend. Stuart laughed at me yesterday when I (jokingly) got into bed wearing my pyjamas and the boots in question. Serious love. And sooo comfy. Amen. Well worth the wait :)

(tshirt dress, bardot. boots, maurie and eve. coat, sportsgirl. bag, vintage. bangle, city beach)
These babies have a detachable harness (which you can adjust depending on how slouchy you want to wear the boots), are all leather and weigh about 1.3 kgs. They don't actually feel heavy when you wear them though....hmmm, wonder how heavy the Edelmans are.
(sheer tank, supre. jeans, lee. earrings, dotti. boots, maurie and eve. cardigan, portmans. bangle, city beach)
Thinking of making szechuan chicken for dinner, so I best work out the ingredients I'll need. Hope you've all had a fab weekend :)

auburn, red, red-red, chestnut
I've been thinking about dyeing my hair again. I dyed it an auburn red a few months back and it's finally faded to a lovely brown. Time for a re-dye however. I'm debating whether to dye it red-red or just a lovely chestnut brown....hmmmm, the options.
Taken last weekend at our annual Father's Day Brunch
This week has been crazy. Work has kicked my arse, so much so that I have been coming home and just lounging. No energy to blog. Or to try to do anything semi-productive. I have however been lusting after a fair few shoes......the Maurie & Eve Platinum Punk Wedges (that I've paid a deposit for (just awaiting their arrival in my fave Billie & Rose store)), the YSL cage knockoffs by Siren (now instore), and these babies....
Cesare Paciotti for Ohne Titel
pc: Jak & Jill
Cannot stop thinking about these. They're so different, so structurally delicate, and soooo out of my price range. To add insult to injury, I'm physically restraining myself from purchasing yet another pair of heels until I sell some of my unworn shoes, and then only buying shoes that I reallllly like and that will be a sound investment. Still, I'm like a junkie on crack-cocaine.....can't stop twitching fingers.....
Going to help my sister do some thrifting tomorrow. Should be fun....love a good rummage in quality vintage stores! I promise to comment on your blogs soon, thank you muchly for all the love <3

Maurie & Eve do it right..
I've been chomping at the bit trying to wait patiently for these babies. The Aussie version of those Balenciaga ankle harness boots. The Sam Edelman Zoe knockoffs are pretty, sure, but these Maurie & Eve Platinum Punk Wedge boots are just that little bit more. Kicker. I debated over which pair to get about two months ago and then quickly realised that I preferred the Maurie & Eve pair (so much more punk-rock) and would save about $200 AUD. Which could be spent on the infamous Ode To No One jacket p'haps? Or to use at Topshop in Bali. Yep, you heard me....Topshop in Bali. Where I'll be in December :)
If you're from Perth, Billie & Rose (all three stores: King St, Mt Lawley and Freo) will be getting the shoes some time this week. If not, try your luck at http://www.mycatwalk.com.au/. Free shipping and returns. Although these babies sold out within the hour. Eeep. Re-order, me thinks (and....confirmed by a friend who works in retail).
Cannot wait.....yum.

Shadows flicker and then dance on by....
These black and white drip-dry Maurie and Eve flares are officially my version of the Bonadrag lace flares that are being touted on all the fashion blogs from here to New Mexico. The lace flares just never did it for me regardless of how good they looked on bloggers, so when I saw these babies I was more than excited about my fashion equivalent.
Love especially how much more than just 'hippy tie dye' these leggings are....another reason to covet this brilliant label.
