fringing and beads
Sometimes all you need is fringing and beads.
Behold this beaded scarf from some random, hole-in-the-wall store in the city.
Gotta love the benefits of working in the city
(err...or not, given how much I'm tempted to spend money)
And the ever-present DIY studded boots.
I love these babies.

auburn, red, red-red, chestnut
I've been thinking about dyeing my hair again. I dyed it an auburn red a few months back and it's finally faded to a lovely brown. Time for a re-dye however. I'm debating whether to dye it red-red or just a lovely chestnut brown....hmmmm, the options.
Taken last weekend at our annual Father's Day Brunch
This week has been crazy. Work has kicked my arse, so much so that I have been coming home and just lounging. No energy to blog. Or to try to do anything semi-productive. I have however been lusting after a fair few shoes......the Maurie & Eve Platinum Punk Wedges (that I've paid a deposit for (just awaiting their arrival in my fave Billie & Rose store)), the YSL cage knockoffs by Siren (now instore), and these babies....
Cesare Paciotti for Ohne Titel
pc: Jak & Jill
Cannot stop thinking about these. They're so different, so structurally delicate, and soooo out of my price range. To add insult to injury, I'm physically restraining myself from purchasing yet another pair of heels until I sell some of my unworn shoes, and then only buying shoes that I reallllly like and that will be a sound investment. Still, I'm like a junkie on crack-cocaine.....can't stop twitching fingers.....
Going to help my sister do some thrifting tomorrow. Should be fun....love a good rummage in quality vintage stores! I promise to comment on your blogs soon, thank you muchly for all the love <3

She's a very kinky girl...the kind you don't take home to mother
Siren has upped its game. This season's offerings are the best yet. Whilst there are some blink'n'you'll miss it imitations, they've actually engaged design teams (or hey, there could just be one man working his arse off, sketching designs??) and come up with some incredible shoes.
And did I mention that the price point is more consumer friendly? I didn't?? Frankly, its probably because I was too busy drooling. Over the model used for the SS10 campaign and the 'godessesque' feel to the look book. Woah!
Let me try and be specific......I want all of this:
APPRO $149.95
CULTURE $119.95
CURIO $109.95
I adore the above two pairs, and cannot for the life of me decide which I want more (and in which colour....more colours available in each style)!

DASH $109.95
(incredible shoes, and another pair I absolutely love)
these were the shoes I was on the hunt for a week back...love these YSL knockoffs!
And a couple more.....
JEALOUS $139.95
CURVE $119.95
Check out Siren's website for more...I meanwhile will be drooling whilst debating which pair I love most and want to take home to mama ;)
Speaking of which, which pair would you be claiming from all of the above?

Newly Inspired...
A few days back, I was stoked to receive a lovely blog award from the gorgeous Eda of Eda's Planet. Eda's Planet is a recently discovered blog, comprising of a complimentary mix of fashion inspiration, outfits, beauty news and other random but relevant bits of information. Go, go, go...check out the blog :)
So, apart from smiling like a lunatic at work when I realised I'd been presented with this gorgeously floralesque award (bearing in mind blog checking is a no-no ;), I would like to pass on the award to:
1) Stompface - She always makes me laugh, we're going to start a tee-wearing business, she controls a strange man called Mr Bird, she has long Rapunzel-esque hair and a fab blog!
2) Fashion Bananas - Love her style!
3) CC of Couture Carrie - hell, this lady is listed under 'fashion function and fabulousness' in the dictionary. No really, go lookie.
4) Pauline of In My Body's House - her writing is haunting and you will not be able to look away. I guarantee it :)
5) Sharon Rose-Style, Thrifting, Fashion and Me - she IS the thrifting queen. You will not be disappointed.
6) Style Porn - Love this blog...always great for daily outfit updates, fashion updates or just updates in general.
7) Bella of Vintage Lollipops - If there was a way to do it (forget about getting caught out!), I would def plunder from her closet. It's my dream closet! Her blog is a no-brainer i.e. must read!
8) Sarah of Macaroni Club - a very recent discovery, this girl's style is off the charts and her blog a must read...what are you waiting for??
9) Anywhere but here - beautiful blog with gorgeous photography and style.
10) Life in Travel - another very recent discovery, this girl's style and smile are killer. Her outfits are insane too!
The shots are from Sunday, prior to Stuart and mine's coffee date. Every Sunday, without fail.
I found this gorgeous bauble sweater at an op-shop a while back and immediately thought of it as a cool oversize sweater dress. And it's a first for me because I NEVER wear pink....broadening my horizons, I am :)
I'm planning to stud the hell out of these boots....mwah hah hah, cannot wait! Studs are on their way, they were just puchased today off of ebay.

Killer Virus Attack
Guess who got struck down by another mystery illness just a few days ago?
Yep, whilst my body's immunity is down and desperately trying to fight off this killer cold strain that seems to have afflicted more than half of Perth another villain virus kicked me in the guts whilst it skipped around aimlessly, glee clearly visible on its wretched face.
I am afraid to state that I am on the path to recovery (from both), because that second sucker might just overhear me. Shhhh!
Meanwhile I have been living in these drop crotch pants I found in Fremantle a few months ago. They are the ultimate in DCPs; very low drop, elasticised ankles and tapered legs.
.Heaven.
Paired with a sheer modal tee, I've found my "outside" version of pyjamas. Amen.
Crimped hair, kids, its all the rage ;)

Tee repeat and X-WRAY Cafe
As mentioned in the last post, that was the not going to be the last time you set eyes upon my beloved Metallica tee. Given that a) I love Metallica (esp. old school Metallica); b) this has to be the most comfy tee I've ever slipped on; and c) I have a new "grey" fascination, you're bound to see this tee alot more.
This time around, worn to Danny Bhoy's (the Scottish comedian) stand up gig and to drinks afterwards. I also wore my Tristan Blairs for the very first time and I have to admit that I am in complete lust nay love. They look incredible with anything and everything and are the most comfy 5" heel around. So comfy infact that lots of walking didn't kill my feet nor did dancing for a good 3-4 hours (on a separate night). Score!
they look slightly scary here, don't they (mwah hah hah) - love 'em!
I also visited my fave coffee shop in Perth last weekend; X-WRAY in Fremantle.
best coffee in Perth. no joke.
Their recent bar addition is reminiscent of a favourite bar of mine back in Kenya that's located on the beach, has the same kind of set up (lots of plants, a makeshift bar with stools) and is tucked away round a corner from the road. I love the bar in Kenya to bits and I can easily see X-WRAY replacing that much-needed hippy lounge hangout. In fact I spent a few hours at X-WRAY last weekend drinking the best flat whites and reading the newspaper whilst the bartender made afternoon cocktails for a few alcohol-imbibing customers and reggae pop funk music played in the background.
Heaven!!
Hope you're all having a great weekend....I've got the worst cold (hence the blog abandonment) and am trying to get over it asap.

worn-in perfection
Get used to this tee, you'll be seeing alot of it on the blog.
From my favourite vtg rock band-memorabilia store in Melbourne; retrostar.
(I got this Metallica tee and a Rolling Stones tour tee. Both in soft, grey, worn-in cotton.)
Now I only wish I had got a few more for good measure.
Perfection truly is a simple comfy tee and jeans
Worn (in this set of shots, anyway) to dinner and drinks at an Irish pub. When they claim to serve "hearty meals", they MEAN it. I had to be wheelbarrowed out of there...which explains the last lazy, lounging shot against the car. Hah.
my hair's getting ridiculously long...and I think I love it??
feel free to snigger at the satiated look on me...
You have been warned....this blog will probably become a one-trick pony with the tee. What can I say, its so comfy I want to sleep in it. Mmmmm. I guess I should just admit now that I wore it on thursday to the Irish pub, Friday to Danny Bhoy's (comedian) stand up gig and on Saturday to the movies. I vaguely recall wearing it on Sunday for a brief period of time as well.....

Dispatched.
Heh. One of my favourite words of the English language.
Since today, when I received an email from ASOS about the dispatching of my leather biker boots.
Yes, I know I said I was on a shoe ban.....but I really wanted a pair of leather biker boots.
(And these are perfect, and only 25 pounds too. Even with the weak Aussie dollar and exorbitant shipping costs, the boots cost me less than half of the ones at Sportsgirl.)
Score!
A little while ago, a few friends of ours called Stuart and me up and asked if we wanted to go to a new-ish theme bar for a few drinks. The bar is one of those hole-in-the-wall type venues, has a kitsch "hell" theme running rampant throughout and is something else. By the time we found it (after driving around for about half an hour!), I was ready to just screw the whole plan and go home. And then we parked in the street and realised we were a few steps away from it.
Kitsch is probably an understatement. There was a lava mountain in the middle of the dance floor, volumptuous red devils all over the place, stalactites and stalagmites throughout and even a real kitsch tv screen with lewd/devilish stuff. Lol. I swear you'd have to be pretty pissed to actually have a great time.
It was alright, but whoa the kitsch factor was overkill! Haha....we took some pictures just because and then left (we were there for a total of 30 mins, it was too much for us lol).
sitting beside the dancefloor. lava stone seats? check.
lava mountain in the midst of the dancefloor. uh huh.

Purple Suede Shoes
I don't know if you remember me harping on and ON about a Wayne Cooper pair of shoes, purple suede and platformed, a little while ago (I didn't get them because of the self-imposed shoe ban)? Well, Stuart is such a sweetheart and bought them for me. Hey, I didn't say other people couldn't buy me shoes :)
There was a bit of a fiasco with the shoes because they run uber big and so I had to hunt down a smaller size (36.5), of which there was only one pair left.

In all of Australia!
I bagged the pair (phew!) and they were posted my way.
Yay!
Yay!
ignore the odd face, I had to try them on asap and had just got home
Seriously, these shoes are pure sex (thank you, my gorgeous Stuart :)
What else? Got the BEST phonecall on Friday from the owner of a designer op-shop....I'd put my name down for a Chanel 2.55.
Yep. I am the proud owner of one.
Happy doesn't cover it.
Seriously.
I'm positively giddy, just watching my new friend on the bed. Good times.

Designers for Payless
I am officially jealous of you Americans.
Payless in the States is a whole lot cooler than our Aussie Payless.....I wait for the day that we have the same/similar designer collaborations that are easier on the pocket, and that give us a small taste of a designer's aesthetic.
What am I talking about?
The Limited Edition Fall 09 Designer Collections.
I came across the paylessontherunway site, and knew I'd hit gold!
I mean, look at some of the shoes that will be on offer and that you can buy online....
Abaete for Payless
Alice + Olivia for Payless
I have to admit that I wasn't too taken with the last collection for Payless but these strappy boots are incredible.
Christian Siriano for Payless; another pair that I covet...spikes, studs, chains....ooh baby!
Loving the coloured soles, but not too sure about the gaps at the sides of the chains....you'd probably need to try these on in store prior to committing to them...still, love.
Absolutely loving the colour, the dangling studs, the cut of the shoe....
Mmmmmmm :)
(Again, damn you lucky Americans!)
I have to admit that I'm willing to beg someone from the States to purchase a pair or two for me and ship them over here (Payless don't offer international shipping...I know, WHAT?!?!)
Any offers, please pretty please?
What about a fee for me, I can definitely deal with that :)
