thehitsjustkeeponcomingfromcamillaandmarc

I was very thrilled to receive an email from Camilla and Marc today, letting me know that their new site is now up and running. This is their AW 10 collection lookbook, and I have to admit that I want nearly everything from it.

That double bullet belt, the sparkle shirts, the draped jackets, the killer navy peacoat, the asymmetrical jackets.

But given my saving plan, the only thing I think I can just about afford is the lovely belt. Mmmm. The way to order is to contact them (contacts listed on the website) and order. Or atleast that's how I did it with my leopard print boots.

p.s. how awesome are the shoes from the current RAFW collection???!!?!

Shake your tailfeather....

A friend's coming over from Mexico and will be staying with us, so the weekend has been spent pretty much cleaning. Our guest room hosts all my spare "rubbish" i.e. clothes, accessories, shoes, vintage, etc.....and so I had to clean it all out/compartmentalise/rationalise. I'm buggered from cleaning! Can I get a weekend to recover from my weekend?!?! Here's where I iterate that lovely concept of the 4-day working week. Which I could arrange with work, but would need to work much longer hours for.....hmmm.....

I wore this dress out, and some random guy came up to me and asked why it was so loose fitting. He then proceeded to give me styling advice. About wearing a belt to cinch it in. Etcetera. Really.....how very metrosexual of you buddy. Aren't you just supposed to enjoy the view? I kid. Point taken. Although after a few long island iced teas....not quite sure there was a point, or what it was ;)

p.s. I've recently discovered the brilliance that is Sportsgirl's matte nailpolish. I'm wearing a turquoise blue here. Yours for $7.95. I've since bought a matte mint green, and a matte coral. Who knew I was capable of such girlie-ness?!?!

Did we have a good weekend? And please don't say it involved cleaning. I'm banning that word. Seriously. In all seriousness though, how did you spend the weekend?

..and I know there's something sick with what I've been sold...

post title: lyrics to Heart by Bertie Blackman.

I've been obsessed with these liquid leggings by black milk for a while now. Spotted first on Queen Michelle of Kingdom of Style, I procrastinated buying them due to the cost. Still, everytime she wears them I find myself drooling....and then still dreaming about them hours later. Time to hit purchase, I say. These babies are killler. So going to enjoy the hell out of them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stuart and I had a memorable-y fantastic seafood platter to share at a new Italian restaurant at the boat harbour close to home this weekend. Yum. Last minute dinner decision and WELL worth it. Yum. Check this (oversize) plate out. Everything had been specifically cooked to perfection (grilled/battered and lightly fried/marinated/barbequed). I still drool a little thinking about it. The highlight of the dish? the mussels marinated in sambuka with herbs......woah!

on these balmy spring nights....

We welcomed spring with a 'moderate' 37 degrees on Saturday. Followed by a hot, balmy night. A perfect night to sit with open doors and in the company of good friends, all whilst nursing cold crisp beers (a Guinness on my part). We took some photos out with friends but most turned out terrible, so Stuart offered to take these once we got back home.....and I accepted (anything to capture the Camilla and Marc hotness).

I should have stood next to Stuart in these pics...the boots take me up to 6 foot :)

.The.White.Tee.

The sheer white pocket tee. An elusive dream for me. Until now. I saw the Sass and Bide Vie ones recently but was still left a little underwhelmed by the sheerness. Until Supre mass-produced its version of the Kain/Express tees (too expensive/not available to ship to Australia respectively). This sheer oversize pocket tee is genius. And a sheer (har-har :) $22 AUD. Perfection. I bought two, and think I should have got a few more.

Worn this weekend with the tee as a constant.
Can I say it?
(sorrrry :P)
Sheer Genius ;)

Change-Shopping-Awards-Leopardlove

As you may have noticed, my blogger template appears different. I'm in the middle of playing around with the default templates, editing parameters to my hearts content. It's not done yet (I want to modify the header, change the background colour, change widths of the post and sidebar sections, and decrease the size of the wraparound) but please do let me know what you think I should do or aim for, or even if you liked it how it was and I should revert back! I decided it was time for a change.....I'm looking for a more professional finish.

--------------------

I've also been getting my act together and snapping pictures for my new blog: shopafricanteaparty. I know the idea of a blogger trying to sell wares is a staggeringly unique one....but I have too many shoes, vintage preciousness, accessories, clothing and other randomness that just sits there and that could be loved by someone else.

To summarise:
*prices will be reasonable, yay!
*there will be frequent giveaways, and all you'll need to do is be a follower of africanteaparty
*payment will need to be by Paypal: shoot me an email with item of interest, await invoice, make payment, and once it clears I'll post the good(s). [More clarity to be provided with regards to it all closer to launch]

I will update this blog once it's all in motion.....stay tuned!

The Seeker bestowed upon me this gorgeous 'Golden Heart Blog Award'. It's Spanish, its sexy, and I'm honoured to be so highly thought of by this gorgeous lady with a fabulous soul and innate sense of style. Do check out her blog.

I'd like to pass on the award to these gorgeous girls:

More importantly, I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and kind thoughts....you guys rock (p.s. I promise to reply to comments sooon).

--------------------

Last but certainly not least of all, I recently received my highly anticipated and awaited Camilla and Marc leopard print boots. I kid you not, I'm wearing them as I type. These babies are officially my favourite pair of shoes. They're all sorts of platform-high goodness, they have that incredible leather smell, they are hand-made, they have the finest fuzz-haired surface, and to top it all off they make your legs look ridiculously good. Seriously. Grace from Camilla and Marc's flagshop store in Paddington, Sydney (ph: + 61 2 93311133) was a delight and looked after me all the way. Thanks so much, Grace!

Hope all is well with you guys. Thanks for all the comment love, I promise to reply soon :)

Camilla and Marc SS 09/10

I have to be honest with you guys....I've been holding out on you. Since the debut of Camilla and Marc's S/S 09/10 RAFW show, I've been keeping an eye out for the delectable leopard print boots. Yum. The clothes themselves were nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, yet they were put together perfectly and the subtle edgyness present in each outfit was delightful.

The themes:
nude colours
metallics
tailored pants
chains/hardware

I loved the juxtaposition of the chains/hardware and the floaty feminine fabrics, and of the leopard print boots with the nude palette. Do I like? Yes. Would I buy? Yes. To select pieces.

One of the above pieces would be those leopard print boots. Or the nude boots. I'm in love with both...and cannot choose for the life of me. Which would you get?

Soon to be released (available to pre-order), they cost $Aud660 - $Aud 700. A lot of money but worth every penny. In fact I had planned to buy a pair of Sam Edelman 'Zoe' harness boots but the total cost (including shipping) is $Aud 696. I'd rather the gorgeous Camilla and Marcs, thank you muchly.
p.s. I'll also take the insanely cool gold jacket with black shoulder pads....mmmm.

I also want to thank you all for the lovely comments. With regards to some of the comments on the last post, I found the YSL knockoffs by Siren....available to pre-order at Sassi Parella (click on link to be directed). G'luck!
